Guest Reviews:
Karen, January 2019 - "We dealt with Deborah from the start and she was very helpful, she met us at the house and explained all we needed to know. The instruction sheets were also very useful. We drove from SA so having a car permit was perfect! So many eateries within walking distance, we often frequented these. Being animal lovers it was fantastic to stumble across the Catmosphere, we loved our visit there. New Years on a shotover boat on the Harbour, cricket, shopping, beaches, movies, opera house visit to see the Illusionists. Always nice to know we had a really nice house to return to at the end of a busy day. A great holiday with accommodation in a perfect location! Thank you 😀"

Not too further afield in the city
- For great coffee – Bourke St Bakery is down the road and Reuben Hills is a roastery and cafe on Albion street.
- 4 Fourteen, run by celebrity chef Colin Fassnidge is around the corner as well as and Vacanza Pizza (featured in TIMEOUT Best 10 Pizzeria’s)
- Salary Man has AMAZING seasonal food - Asian with a modern twist - make sure you book.
- Il Baretto is a quaint little Italian with the best pasta.
- Bills on Crown street is a Sydney institution for Sunday brunch.
- Mille Vini is a nice little Italian wine bar on Crown Street, next door to Messina (voted best gelato in Australia by Good Food Guide).
- The Dolphin Hotel or The Clock for a refreshing ale.
For Groceries
- Woolworths (supermarket) is 2 blocks down the road. We also love Crown Street Grocer (they stock Iggy’s bread) and Maloneys for gourmet supplies.
Other amenities in the hood
- The Library on Crown Street is a lovely peaceful space and the playground across the road on Shannon Reserve is popular with neighbourhood kids.
Markets
- Specialising in handmade, second-hand and recycled goods. The Surry Hills markets are held on the first Saturday of every month in Shannon Reserve, on the corner of Crown and Collins Streets.
- You are also walking distance to Paddington Market and Fox Studio markets which are on every Saturday.
Not too further afield in the city
- Try out the Spice Alley tucked in a little hidden alley behind George Street.
- The Cook & Philip swimming pool is a fantastic brutalist concrete truly urban pool while Boy Charlton Pool at the Botanic Gardens has harbour views and a great café.
- Also don’t miss the White Rabbit Gallery for a touch of very contemporary, very accessible Chinese art housed in a lovely 3 storey renovated surrounds complete with a tearoom downstairs - great for a rainy day…
